ABout Cliff Jones

Cliff Jones Writer/Cliff Jones has won domestic and international awards for his work in musical theatre, television and network radio. He has composed and directed for : MARTIN SHORT, LORNE MICHAELS, MARY TYLER MOORE, ANNE MURRAY, GORDON PINSENT, ALAN THICKE, ALEX TREBECK, SHIRLEY JONES, DAVID CASSIDY, PETER LAWFORD, GEORGIA ENGLE, ANDY GRIFFITH, RICH LITTLE, RITA MCNEIL, MEAT LOAF, BARBARA EDEN, KAREN KAIN, SHARI LEWIS (and Lamb Chop!), EARTHA KITT, PAUL WILLIAMS, PETER O'TOOLE.

Cliff wrote the book, music & lyrics for a rock opera based on HAMLET. Under various names it played in Toronto starring Brent Carver & Beverley D'Angelo, on Broadway where it was directed by Gower Champion. It also played in Los Angeles for 18 months and won 7 L.A Theatre Awards.

Cliff has also written and composed numerous CBC musicals including HEY MARILYN starring Beverly D'Angelo and SOME OF MY BEST RATS ARE FRIENDS starring Martin Short.
